Friends Program

The Friends program has emerged from our work with children in speech, language, and communication! We are a group of Speech-Language Pathologists and SLP-Assistants and most of our work is “therapy”. But…many kids benefit from situations where there is little “professional support” at all! And that’s where the Friends program fits in! The Friends program allows such children an opportunity to share friendship and play with an attentive adult friend.
The Friends Program: * provides a happy, physically supportive environment * provides an adult friend to play with, one who understands and who truly honors each child
* gives kids the experience of being fully accepted and valued, regardless of skill level * allows kids to see that their skill level need not be a barrier to having a friend, or to being a friend!
